Natalie is from Windsor, Ontario and is a 20 years old. She just graduated with her Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing at the University of Western Ontario in London.

Natalie realized at a very young age, that volunteer services provide a great opportunity to enhance one’s educational, personal and professional development. Being a motivated multi-talented performer, Natalie uses her vocal talents to enrich the lives of others. Her active participation within both the French and English communities in Tecumseh and Windsor-Essex County has led Natalie to be a sought after entertainer at many charity events and festivals. Organizations Natalie has helped out include W.E. Care for Kids, Heart and Stroke, the Cardiac Wellness Centre, the Kidney Foundation, Up with Downs, the Tecumseh Corn Fest, the Belle River Sunsplash, the Belle River Canadians Hockey Team, CIBC Run for the Cure, Good Fellows, Terry Fox Run and more. The Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation hold a special place in Natalie’s heart, and an annual fundraiser that benefits the two causes is one of the many ways she contributes.

Natalie is a previous Miss Tecumseh titleholder (2007) and has won many awards and scholarships for her involvement and vocal talents such as the Canada Youth Day Award, the United Way Hearts that Light the Way Award, Ontario Junior Citizen of the Year and many, many others.

Natalie’s hobbies include traveling, shopping, dancing, reading, and going to the gym.

John Yearwood is from the ‘beautiful island in the sun’ known as Barbados. This young man was born on January 29th 1988 and grew up in a small close knit community located in Newbury, St. George. John attended the Louis Lynch Secondary School and later attended and graduated from the Lodge School where he completed his Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) in Caribbean Studies, Communication Studies, Design and Technology, Geometric and Engineering Drawings as well as Visual Arts and Craft. Whilst at the Lodge School, John participated in a Youth Leadership Programme sponsored by Toastmasters International.

The program was designed to expose young people to public speaking and the fundamental principles of Leadership. Typically a modest and quiet fellow, John was exposed to the importance of oral etiquette and was taught how to competently speak to audiences greater than one. Ultimately, the programme not only improved John’s level of self esteem and confidence but provided him with excellent communication skills which he incorporated within his life. John is not shy to say that he can ably articulate and express himself within any forum of discussion.
If given one word, John would describe himself as a sportsman. John proudly represented his school in football, cricket, volleyball and track and field. He was a member of the Barbados National squad at the 2004 Junior Football World Cup Qualifiers and the 2005 Caribbean Junior Volleyball Championships which Barbados won. This sporting portfolio has opened doors to many opportunities such as travel and learning about different cultures. He has made countless friends and always leaves a game with a smile. It is that sportsman like character that is the true fabric of John Yearwood. He is the epitome of discipline and perseverance, willing to learn, keen to try new things, competitive, with the knowledge of success, failure and resilience. Most important, he is a team player, as no one man is an island and Together Everyone Achieves More.
In the summer of 2006 he was a part of the Cricket World Cup 2007 project as he worked as an office assistant to the main architects Larsen and Toubro. This experience further fueled his ambition to become an architect as he spent his lunch times reviewing construction plans and schematics. The same year, John was hired by the Ministry of Education to teach Industrial Arts and Design and Technology at the Secondary School Level. It was only then that he noticed his love for children, and passing on knowledge as he did so for two years.
Taking time off from teaching to pursue his first passion, John is currently a full-time student at the Barbados Community College pursuing studies in Architecture. John was drawn to architecture through Technical Drawing at the age of thirteen. He has a love for drawing and was captivated by the practical applications and knowledge which Architecture offered. According to Sir Winston Churchill, ‘we shape our buildings: thereafter they shape us’. In a country such as Barbados where the standard of living and economic development is high, architects will be further desired to sculpt the future civilization while preserving the current built and social environment.
John earned the title of Mr. Ebony Barbados this year and is going from strength to strength in both his educational pursuits and his modeling career. Although it started out as just a hobby, he sees modeling as a lucrative career path, something fun he can do while continually building confidence and experiencing diverse cultures. John sticks close to three core philosophies which guide him in his everyday endeavors and trials. These are “Anything worth doing is worth doing well”, “No struggle, no progress,” and “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me: Philippians 4:13”
